Big Day for Brampton
Next Saturday (28th April) will be a big day for the residents and trades people of Brampton when the Pirelli International Rally stages a grandstand finish right slap bang in the middle of town with the competing cars lining up in the towns main street and the winners taking the chequered flag and celebrating with the traditional champagne spraying, aided and abetted by Brampton’s bell ringing town crier.
To add to the carnival atmosphere of the proceedings, the rally organisers have laid on a number of attractions to entertain the crowds while they wait for the cars to arrive and there will be something for everybody, young and old. While a street entertainer will be keeping the younger spectators entertained, a 60 foot giant TV screen will display the days action in glorious colour and there will numerous giveaways from both Pirelli and Prestone. There will also be a barbeque and the towns catering establishments will be open so no-one need go away hungry.
Once the cars arrive there will be a live commentary and interviews with the leading crews which will give the enthusiast time to collect autographs and take photos and, of course, have a close up look at the cars.
The fun will start from 4:00pm with the first of the competing cars expected to arrive in Brampton around about 6:30pm. There is sure to be a real buzz around the place and the rally organisers are hoping that the weather will be kind so that everyone can enjoy the lively rally atmosphere and give the rally crews a really rousing welcome.
