Good Morning from the Pirelli Carlisle Rally 2016

Sparkling sunshine and crisp conditions, greeted competitors as they lined up at Borderway Auction Mart for the start of the 2016 Pirelli Carlisle Rally. Yesterday’s sleet and snow has thankfully abated and been replaced by bright sunshine offering ideal conditions as the crews tackle the opening four stages of the event. Heading the field today will be the competitors in the Mintex British Historic Championship.  The Historic entries leave Carlisle at 8am heading across Hadrian’s Wall to the first 8.73 mile stage in Kielder Forest after a further three stages and a service halt on the shores of Kielder Water the winners will cross the Finish Line back in Carlisle at 1pm.
