Kielder’s Big Rally Attracts Huge Interest
The Kielder Forest Rally will see a bumper entry heading up the North Tyne Valley on June 18th with a surge of entries seeing some 80 crews already signed up for the high speed dash through Kielder Forest’s demanding tracks and, as entries don’t close for a couple of weeks, there is still the prospect of plenty more to come.
The rally has attracted a wide variety of machinery with no fewer than 13 different makes represented on the ever lengthening entry list. Included amongst them is the Land Rover which will see a whole squad of the unique Bowler Defenders taking part, competing in their own, very keenly fought, series.
The Kielder Forest Rally will be a round of quite a selection of other championships including the MRF Tyres BTRDA Rally Series, The Motorsport UK English Rally Championship, The SG Petch / ANECCC Stage Rally Championship and the Motoscope/ HRCR Northern Historic Rally Champioship. With some extremely rapid drivers signed up for all of these series, the competition is sure to be fast and furious as the crews go head to head over the challenging and demanding Kielder Forest tracks which are sure to be a stern test of man and machine, there is a good reason the area is known in rallying circles as “Killer Kielder”.
Rally Headquarters for the rally will be the Hexham Auction Mart which will also host the rallies Media Office and Service Area.
