Pirelli Carlisle Offers World Stage Opportunity

The Pirelli Carlisle Rally has become the latest event to join the “Road To Wales” initiative with competitors on the Carlisle based rally, the next upcoming round of both the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship and the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, having the opportunity to collect a free entry into November’s Wales Rally GB, the British round of the FIA World Rally Championship. Speaking on behalf of the Pirelli Carlisle Rally organisers, Rally Chairman, Brian Kinghorn said, “ We are delighted to offer this most lucrative prize a seat that must be every rally drivers dream to compete on the world stage and take part in the same event as the top works drivers. We want to be completely fair and give everyone the chance of winning so  every single competitor who enters the rally before the official closing date for entries will have the opportunity of becoming the lucky recipient of this fabulous prize.” The winning competitor will have the choice of competing on Wales Rally GB, either  the full International event or, if they prefer, the National section. It is a prize worth some £1500 but in real terms it could be a priceless opportunity to compete on one of the world’s legendary rallys. The Pirelli Carlisle Rally runs on Saturday April 25^th with  ceremonial start in Carlisle city centre before heading to the famous Kielder Forest where the event’s special stages are located. The rally finishes with a podium prize presentation outside Kielder Castle, a picturesque former country retreat for the Dukes of Northumberland.
