The Pirelli Carlisle Rally promises a crowded weekend of motorsport in the far North West with the event offering a unique format to cater for the very different championship that will be descending on Carlisle over the May Bank Holiday weekend with something for everyone, no matter what their aspirations or, indeed, budget may be. See what’s on offer from the provisional timetable below :-
Historic / Two Wheel Drive Section ( Nat A/B ) Saturday 30th April
This section will welcome all Historic and Modern 2 wheel drive cars, and will include competitors in the Mintex MSA British Historic and Motoscope Northern Historic Championships. Scrutineering and Documentation will take place on the afternoon of Friday 29th with an 08:00start from H & H on Saturday morning. Four great stages in the giant Kielder Forest are planned ( two of them around 15 miles ! ) totalling 45 stage miles, all of which are single usage. Service will be in the Kielder area at mid point, with an early afternoon finish back at H & H Carlisle and awards will be presented on the finish ramp, enabling crews to make an early start for home.
MSA British Rally Championship / Open Section
This section welcomes crews from the MSA British Championship, the SG Petch/ANECCC Series and is open to all 2 and 4 wheel drive cars with an MSA log book, including the Armed Forces Rally Team. For all BRC and non-registered crews entered in a car suitable for the BRC, the event will start with a recce on Friday 29th April, Scrutineering and Documentation will take place on the Saturday morning and there will be a mid day start from the Pirelli Tyres Ltd Carlisle factory.
The opening leg will include four stages ( Totalling 45 miles) with one remote service area, with the end of this first leg back in Carlisle which will see the conclusion and prize giving for the SG Petch/ ANECCC crews.The BRC and Armed Forces crews will restart on Sunday 1st May for a further three stages in Kielder ( All Different from the opening leg ), these will total 75 stage miles and the event will conclude back at H & H in Carlisle around about mid day.
