Pirelli’s Free Offer to Public
Amongst the hordes of rally enthusiasts who turn up in Carlisle city centre every year to see the competitors leaving the start of the Pirelli Carlisle RB Foundation Rally, there are many who express a desire to have a go themselves and this year they are going to be given the opportunity. The event organising team have joined forces with the M.S.A’s Go-Motorsport initiative who will be manning a stand, located near the rally start line, giving information on how to get involved in the sport.
The Go-Motorsport stand will feature a “ Clubman” type rally car which can be sourced at modest cost and used on local events, road rallies and autotests for instance, and will provide the public with lots of information about the sport and where to contact their local motor club. There will also be the opportunity to enter a free prize draw which will reward the lucky winners with the opportunity to take part in a motor club event in their area, absolutely free of charge.
As a further incentive and to encourage young people to get involved, the Go-Motorsport team will be visiting several schools in Carlisle, taking along a rally car and offering lots of information, help and advice to the next generation of budding rally stars.
The Pirelli Carlisle RB Foundation Rally runs over the weekend of 3rd/ 4th May with the cars on display, from 9:30am, before the first one leaves the start line, outside Carlisle’s Old Town Hall.
