Pirelli’s Fundraiser Hits the Heights for Richard

Richard Burns
A fantastic effort from the organisers of the Pirelli Richard Burns Foundation Rally which was matched with an enormous degree of generosity from the rallying community has seen the event’s charity fundraiser, aimed at raising funds for the Richard Burns Foundation, hit it’s target and raise a mighty £5,000 which will go towards the foundations valuable work funding medical research.Right from the outset of the campaign, the Cumberland Sporting Club members put their heart and soul into making the fundraiser a success and they received an early boost when so many companies and organisations within the rally fraternity donated some really eye catching and desirable prizes, such as a trip to Wales Rally GB , tickets for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and a ride in a World Championship rally car, all prizes that money can’t buy.. The list of wonderful prizes was massive, every rally enthusiasts dream, and the organisers are extremely grateful to the many people who contributed to it. Tickets were sold at every opportunity, and at a variety of venues ranging from Carlisle city centre to the depths of the massive Kielder Forest, while sellers travelled far afield, a trip up to Aberdeen and the Granite City Rally produced bumper sales while on the rallies Special Stages, tickets were still being sold as the cars went thundering past. The rally organisers are hoping to organise a formal presentation to pass on the cash to the Richard Burns Foundation and are already looking at plans to repeat the fundraising campaign on next years event.
